The present Reciprocating Pump Test Rig is a self-contained unit operated on closed circuit basis containing a sump tank. The set-up consists of a Double acting, Single Cylinder Reciprocating Pump coupled with a AC Motor. Flow of water is measured by using measuring tank and stopwatch. Vacuum gauge is fitted on suction line and Pressure gauge is fitted on delivery line to measure the pressure.
➢To determine the characteristics of reciprocating pump and to find out total head, pump efficiency, overall efficiency & volume metric efficiency.
➢ To plot the graph:
• Head VsDischarge
• Discharge Vs Pump efficiency
➢ Electricity supply: Single phase, 220V AC, 50 Hz, 5-15 amp combined socket with earth connection.
➢ Earth voltage should be less than 5 volts.
➢ Water Supply (Initial fill).

➢The pressure measuring point should be with quick release coupling and self locking made of brass All the Piping will be of Corrosion resistant material. An ENGLISH instruction manual consisting of experimental procedures, block diagram etc. will be provided along with the Apparatus
➢ The whole set-up is well designed and arranged on a rigid structure painted with industrial PU Paint.
